Plastics News – Santa Cruz, Calif., joins list of cities banning plastic grocery bags.

Well done to Sana Cruz.   This is the only real solution to plastic bag pollution.  We tried the recycling route for many many years without a good result. banning the bag offers so many good new opportunities for the environment and shoppers to use their reusable bags.

These arguments by the Bag Alliance are like a stuck record.  What are they thinking when they say we have to damage the environment to protect a few jobs that make a product that is not really needed.   Plus how can using and reusing reusable bags be bad for the environment?   They throw this to there to cause confusion but that statement has no merit.   If the Chinese were forward thinking enough to make reusable bags, while USA manufacturers were more interested in taking on legal battles to try to keep a product that is increasingly becoming apparent that it is bad for the country, rather than themselves making these products of the future, then whose problem is that?
