BOS adopts plastic bag ban – Ukiah Daily Journal.

“Sweeney said state law prohibits any kind of charge for a plastic bag, leaving a ban as the only way to allay environmental damage caused when non-biodegradable plastic bags are thrown away, accumulating in massive quantities in the ocean and becoming part of the food chain as they break down into smaller pieces.”

How do we let lobbyists get away with passing a law to prohibit any kind of charge for a plastic bag?
Where is the sense in such a specific law?
How does a detailed law like this work for the betterment of the citizens?
Aren’t these pro business groups always harping on about the citizens freedom of choice and that any restriction should not be allowed.   How is freedom of choice applying by stopping retailers from charging for an item they sell?  This is hypocrisy at its finest with politicans passing laws that are infavour of a small group  only.
