PepsiCo Dream Machine Recycle Rally Names St. Cornelius School Winner of “Dream Green School Makeover” Contest | Solid Waste & Recycling Magazine.

This is a simple example of what happens whena disposable plastics manufacturer acknowledges the pollution their products are making and actually does some support (financial and timewise) to provide incentives to get their pollution bottles out of the environment.

Approximately 900 schools in 34 states nationwide participated in the Dream Machine Recycle Rally, and an estimated 24 million containers – more than 1.2 million pounds – have been captured since the program launched in 2010. In its second contest year, the Dream Machine Recycle Rally awarded nearly $250,000 in contest prizes to participating schools.

This is simple thinking ande very effective yet why do we see so many manufacturers refusing to be responsible and even going to the large expense of fighting the shirking of their responsibility in the courts.
