Although overall a mix of results it is clear that it is only a matter of time before the people of Brazil ban plastic bags. And why wouldn’t they?
Public statistics show that more than 2.4 billion plastic bags are consumed each month in the state, 90 percent of which end up in the trash.
How we got to this state of unbelieveable environmental damage is not sure, but it is not sustainable by anyones definition. The profits of a few bag makers are not worth the contamination of large areas of their environment for 100s and 100’s of years.
