Plastic bag use in England is on the rise

Plastics News – Plastic bag use in England is on the rise.

Mr Gordon’s comment about plastic bags are less than 1% of landfill waste is intentionally misleading the reader, which is typical of a manufacturer.  Plastic bags are the #1 item in landfills by the number of items that go to landfills.   Go take a walk around a landfill and you’ll spend all day tripping over plastic bags.  Trash inside a plastic bag is isolated from the rest of the landfill biodegradation which hinders landfill operations.  We’d be better off not putting our trash in waterproof, non biodegradable bags.

If paper bags were used for those people who forget their reusable bags, it would be good for the pollution situation, & good for the environment.

Plastic bags ought to be banned.  This is the only real way to solve this huge problem.
