Despite tax, Maryland shoppers still using plastic bags – News – Plastics News#email_sustain.

This evidence shows as has been shown many times before now that imposing a little charge on a plastic bag will drops it use by consumes by substantial amounts.  This shows how little convenience value consumers put on them.  If a fee is imposed a large majority of users simply switch to reusable bags in just a few months.  Hence in spite of the plastic bag lobbying saying users will be severely disadvantaged if they can’t have their disposable plastic bags, it shows he opposite.  Users move on to another way to live their lives without missing a beat.

This kind of evidence, should be used to implement many more far reaching plastic bag bans.
