Posted on May 13, 2012 by DrRossH in Landfills and Disposal“NEW SPRINGFIELD, Ohio, Green energy will soon be helping to power homes, following Waste Management’s announcement today on the groundbreaking of a gas-to-electric facility at Mahoning Landfill in New Springfield, Ohio.
Once construction is completed, Waste Management Mahoning Landfill is designed to generate 4.8 megawatts of electricity, enough to power over 3,500 homes. The plant will be operational by the end of this year.”
