The Urban & Industrial waste based power projects have been witnessing upward trend in recent years driven by increasing investments from private sector and ongoing government initiatives to promote generation of power from urban and industrial waste. The overall installed capacity of grid connected waste power projects surpassed 70 MW by end of 2011 as compared to more than 90 MW of off grid waste base power projects.
Dr Ross Headifen is an active promotor of the issues of plastic waste and what it is doing to our environment. He looks at issues concerning the proliferation of plastic waste and methods to control/reduce it. Including Reduce, Replace, Recycle and a new 4th R for Rejuvenation using landfill biodegradable additives to make plastics fade away.
