Bioplastics not coming through on Promises
Posted on January 16, 2012 by DrRossH in BioPlasticsThe link shows another example of the promise of Bioplastics disappointing many people with its lack of success. Bioplastics or plastics made from plants, commonly have the same disposal problems as conventional plastics. While industry manufacturers would lead us to believe they are biodegradable with the name ‘bioplastics’ they are generally not and those that are claimed biodegradable in commercial compost facilities are coming under increasing scrutiny as they are not biodegrading there either.
Yet another education process for the consumer to go through to understand the bioplastic product they preferentially purchased in order to help the environment is green washing and they are still have the same problem as before with their plastic disposal. See this link.
