Landfill Gas to Electricity – Canada
Posted on July 11, 2013 by DrRossH in Landfills and DisposalThe success of the newly-named Nanaimo Bioenergy Centre is the result resulted of a willingness of the partners and stakeholders to embrace and manage policy, plus financial and innovation risk. In 2008 the establishment of the BC Hydro Standing Offer Program positioned Cedar Road to complete a 1.3 MW Phase One, biogas-to-electricity facility. A capital investment of 3.8 million dollars was facilitated by predictable cashflow, itself enabled by long-term power purchase predictability.
These kind of innovative developments for green power go hand in hand with making all of our plastic waste biodegradable.
