The SET-listed PTT Global Chemical Plc (PTTGC), Thailand’s largest petrochemical producer, plans to start commercial production of biodegradable plastic screws and plates within three years, the first Southeast Asian manufacturer to do so.
The alliance expects the price of decomposable plastic screws and plates will be half that of the existing steel equipment.
“This will help the poor to have greater access to medical services thanks to lower price of the equipment,” said Mr Pornchai.
