Queen Victoria Market will ban plastic bags, following the lead of our major supermarkets.

As Coles and Woolworths on Monday announced a slew of new measures to slash plastic waste, Queen Victoria Market management said by next year, their goods will no longer be sold in single use plastic bags.

The market will consult with traders on the exact timing, but is committed to the move.
