Following a $7 million investment in a brand new, state-of-the-art processing facility, ReCommunity began serving the City of Tucson in July. At full capacity, the fully-automated facility will create more than 80 green jobs in Tucson. ReCommunity accepts a wider array of plastic containers numbered one to seven. In addition to paper fibers, aluminum, glass and ferrous containers, residents can now toss these recyclables into a single curbside recycling bin, which makes it easier and more likely recyclables are captured and not discarded in landfills.
