It is really hard to imagine taking backward steps. A great thing has been introduced and helping out the environment at no cost to anyone. Partisan politics are costing this country a fortune for short sighted vote garnering.
The last commenter has to get over this ‘I should have the right to make my own decisions and act as I like, not be controlled by governments’. This is a common theme amongst people who don’t understand what is happening and how our quality of life is being eroded by corporate profits buying political decisions. There are many things wrong with our current behaviour and trying to find out the facts is very difficult not knowing who to believe. Manufacturers spin how good their products are and hiding all the negative consequence of those products. It takes a concerted effort to filter though many comments and reports by a wide range of people to start to see what is the behind the scenes pictures of our current lifestyle. For a person to make this ‘my right ..’ claim is just putting their head in the sand and letting our environment and health be eroded while they sip their lattes in oblivion. As a society we do need help by people expert in their field to protect our lifestyle. An individual cannot know everything, we simply don’t have that free time to delve into everything. There are a number of people who put their personal wealth much higher than our societal health. We banned DDT in the 60s as it was deemed harmful to our health. What happened to the ‘It is my right to use DDT..’ back then?
