Toronto bans plastic bags

Congratulations to Toronto for going from a 5 cent fee for a bag or provide a free alternative reusable bag or box, which was recently overturned by their mayor (for who know what reasons) to the implementing a outright bag ban. Their city will be better off. While some retailers bemoan they will lose sales as people will not buy products from then as the store can’t give them a bag to take their good away in, which is unlikely to enter into the purchase decision really, to other store owners saying it gives them a chance to sell reusable bags now so they could be better off.
Either way getting rid of free plastic bags that last for 100s of years for just a few minutes of use is the real ludicrous situation. Why their mayor doesn’t understand that hints of another agenda.
