UAE brings forward ban on disposable plastics

UAE brings forward ban on disposable plastics.

We applaud the UAE for this stance, it is necessary for sheer volume of disposable plastic now being manufactured.

Unfortunately they have not made a wise decision on the use of the oxodegradable additive for their plastic bags.  These bags will fragment into little pieces and allow plastic to blow around their country and in the ocean potentially doing more damage that what the non fragmenting bag is doing.  They will not biodegrade and no ASTM or equivalent test data has been produced to show that.  It has only been a big salesman ship effort in reality.

An outright ban on the bags would be better and safer for all.
