AIP Conference : Search for willing partners – AustraliaPosted on January 5, 2021 by DrRossH in Plastic Limiting Regulations
“You really need to be clever and find some end markets [for recycled materials],” he said. Lunn explained that it was those end markets that drive through to packaging design, and the designers need to understand the consumer and their motivations. “We can’t operate alone anymore. You need partnerships and need to find willing partners who are moving in the same direction as you.”
Is Australia too small to have end markets for waste plastic? The required infrastructure cost required to be set up to collect plastic waste and get it back to some remanufacturing facility for sorting and reprocessing would be substantial. Perhaps not viable. Where does that leave us?
